On July 14, 2022, the new Honda HR-V was formally unveiled in Malaysia. The 2022 HR-V is available in four variations, colours and three different powertrains. The base S costs RM114,800 and has a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine. The Turbo E (RM129,800) and Turbo V (RM134,800) models, powered by the now-familiar 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine, are anticipated to account for the majority of sales. The most expensive vehicle is the RS e:HEV hybrid, which costs RM140,800. All prices include sales tax and are on-the-road without insurance.

Last but not least, Honda boasts that the new HR-V has better handling, comfort, and NVH than the outgoing model. For this, a strong base is required, and the body's lateral stiffness, torsional rigidity, and suspension attachment all need to be improved by 10%, 5%, and 15%, respectively. The increased rigidity is the result of numerous modest adjustments, such as larger fasteners, three-way structures at specific joints, and a "rear performance rod" built into the frame.
